Carroll Christopher Chambliss (born December 26, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio) was a Major League Baseball player from 1971-1988 for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves. Chambliss played first base and was known as a great clutch hitter throughout his career. In the 1976 American League Championship Series, his home run off Mark Littell of the Kansas City Royals gave the Yankees their first trip to the World Series since 1964. After his playing days days ended, Chambliss became a hitting instructor for several teams and is talked about as a possible managerial candidate.
