Miley Rae Stewart is a fictional character played by Miley Cyrus from the Disney Channel Original Series Hannah Montana.

Character Information

Miley Rae[4] Stewart is an ordinary girl who lives a double-life as successful pop sensation Hannah Montana. She tries to keep it a secret so that she could live a normal life. Miley is funny and likes her life like that. Sometimes she doesn't like the way things are going but when she tries to fix it she ends up in trouble.At the end everything turns out well. She lives with her brother, Jackson (Jason Earles), and her father, Robbie Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus), who is also her manager and producer, and was a country singer at one time. Miley's mother died when she was young. Roxy (Frances Callier) is Hannah Montana's bodyguard who protects Miley, Jackson, and Robbie Ray, even when they don't want her to.

When Miley first arrives to Seaview Middle School as an eighth-grader, she meets her best friends Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) and Oliver Oken (Mitchel Musso), who eventually figures out her secret. In season 2 she is a high school freshman (9th grade). Due to her double life, Miley is often involved in awkward situations, but even in her normal life as Miley, she makes the same mistakes anyone would. Her problems continue when she moves on to the same high school her brother attends.

Miley's enemies are Amber Addison (Shanica Knowles) and Ashley Dewitt (Anna Maria Perez de Tagle), who are constantly mean to her and her friends, but happen to love Hannah Montana. Later she gets use to her school and meets a cute famous teen actor named Jake Ryan.

In the episode "New Kid in School", Jake Ryan, (Cody Linley), moves to her school. At first she is jealous of him because of all of the special attention he gets, she finally realizes her feelings for him after Jake told her (as Hannah) that he can't stop thinking of Miley. In the episode "People Who Use People," Miley starts going out with Jake, but then he has to fly to Romania for four months to shoot a movie. He came back in the episode "Achy Jakey Heart, Part 1" and in "Achy Jakey Heart, Part 2", and they became a couple but broke up.

  • She has a teddy bear that she has had since she was little. It's name is Beary Bear
  • She sometimes says "(Name of Person) say what?!" (Mean girl, Weirdo, Bunnyman, etc)
  • "Hannah" sings up-beat, pop-sounding songs and what society would call "a pop star" but many Disney promotional games online and other commercials call "Hannah" as "a rock star." The first Hannah Montana DVD is titled as Livin' the Rock Star Life in the US, referring "Hannah" as a "rock star". Ironically, the second Hannah Montana DVD is titled as Pop Star Profile, referring "Hannah" as a "pop star". Normally, her music would be considered as Pop, while Miley Cyrus's music would be considered as Pop Rock.
  • Some of the relatives' first name are actual relatives' first name of Miley Cyrus.
  • In the first episode, she had a wig that was wavy and had no bangs. But begining from the second episode, it was straight and had bangs.
  • In the episode, I Want You to Want Me ... To Go to Florida Robby Ray yells at Miley calling her Miley Rae.
  • In the episode, I Want You to Want Me ... To Go to Florida, real home videos and pictures of Miley and her father are used. They are used when her father sings the song, Get Ready, Set, Don't Go.
  • Miley's bedroom was shown only partially once in the first season but is more commonly shown in the second season.
