Neil and Sue changed Chloe's name to Rebecca.

In 2002, Sonia kidnapped Rebecca while Neil and Sue were out. Sonia told their babysitter that she was a family friend, and snatched Rebecca, taking her to Walford. Neil and Sue worked this out and were hot on her trail.

While Sonia barricaded herself inside her house, the Millers gave Dot Branning fifteen minutes to persuade Sonia to hand Rebecca over before they phoned the police. Dot successfully persuaded Sonia to hand Rebecca over, and just as the Millers were about to call the police, Sonia returned Rebecca.

Sonia read in a newspaper in 2005 that Neil and Sue had died in a car crash. This led to her gaining contact with Rebecca again.

Marjorie "Precious" Hudson (née Hulton) was the glamourous wife of gangster Angel Hudson and she was first seen in Walford in June 2002 when Angel forced his old associate, Paul Trueman, to keep a watchful eye over her. It turned out that Precious was Angel's fake alibi in a murder trial and fearing that she might skip town or be harmed before she could testify, he arranged for Precious to move in with the Trueman's and instructed Paul not to let her out of his sight.

Initially Paul was unaware of the fact that Precious was Angel's wife, and so when she made her amorous intentions towards him clear, he had no qualms whatsoever about sharing a bed with her. When she finally told him the truth, he was horrified, and petrified of what Angel would do should he discover what had occurred between them. Precious reassured him that their marriage was a sham and promised not to divulge the affair. However later that night, whilst Paul went to get a take-away for a cosy night in together, Precious packed her bags and left. Paul was frantic, particularly when Angel showed up looking for her. Paul fed Angel a story and he along with his brother, Anthony, went in search of Precious, leaving Angel home alone with their father, Patrick. Paul eventually tracked Precious to her mother's hair salon, and desperately tried to persuade her to return, but she refused and sped off in a taxi. Paul returned home to discover his father bound and gagged by Angel, who was also holding Anthony's girlfriend, Zoe, hostage. Angel attacked Paul, just as Precious walked in the door. She had changed her mind about returning because she loved Paul.

A few days later some shady characters were seen placing a bomb underneath Precious' car - timed to go off half an hour before she was due to be at the solicitor with Angel. However Precious had put her car into the local mechanics for a service and when it exploded only Garry Hobbs was hurt but the injuries where fortunately not serious. Precious was furious that her life was under threat and she told Angel she would lie for him in the trial but only if he gave her a divorce. Soon after Precious was kidnapped by the father of the man Angel murdered. He convinced Precious that the only way to get rid of Angel was to get him locked up. Precious realised that Angel would never divorce her and would rather see her dead, so she decided to tell the truth in the trial the following day, but to her horror Angel was found not guilty anyway.

Paul and Precious then decided to flee Walford for Spain. However an altercation in The Queen Vic between the Truemans and the Slaters stalled their departure and after Paul got into a fight with Garry Hobbs he was carted away by the police. Meanwhile, Precious, who was waiting for Paul was caught by Angel.

Precious told Angel she was in love with Paul and wanted a divorce. Surprisingly Angel wasn't bothered and he told Precious that he didn't care enough about her betrayal to kill her and that she could have her divorce. Paul was a different matter however. He promised that if he ever found out that she and Paul were together, he would kill him. In order to protect Paul, Precious was forced to lie. She told him she wasn't in love with him and said she was just using him as an escape from Angel. After which she left Walford, leaving Paul with a broken heart. When Jim hurt his back, Doris gave him a massage on his bed, only to be interrupted by Dot returning home. After Dot refused to sleep in the same room as Jim, he went for a drink with Doris and was torn between the two women.

OccupationBarman

When Peggy Mitchell needed a bar manager for her pub, The Queen Vic, she only had one candidate left to interview; a man named Dave Roberts. He won Peggy over by claiming to know her son, Grant,[3] and started the job on 28 October,[4] inviting his dodgy friends to the pub, worrying Peggy about the type of customers he may attract.[5]

He made it up to her by offering to check the fire alarms in The Vic, but annoyed her further by going through a drawer full of her personal documents and asking her about her daughter Sam's love life.[6] He went on to question Sam about her relationships with Trevor Morgan and Ricky Butcher.[7]

He later berated Sam for cancelling the pub's bonfire party in the aftermath of the deaths of Tom Banks and Trevor Morgan, but praised Peggy for the cancellation.[7][8] Sam became suspicious of Dave when he allowed one of his friends to smoke cannabis in the pub.[9]

After one of Dave's friends barged into Patrick Trueman in the pub, Peggy threatened to bar anyone who upset her regular customers.Later that night, Sam caught Dave scheming with his friends to have a lock-in after hours.[10] She threatened to call the police when they didn't leave, but Dave grabbed her and started to pull her shirt off. Sam kneed him in the groin and ran away.[11] The next morning, the pub and the living quarters above were trashed. Peggy was angry, but couldn't get rid of Dave until his contract ended. Sam urged her to sack him sooner. Later in the bar, Dave started getting close to Sam, at which point she told Peggy what had happened the night before. Peggy told her daughter that Dave wouldn't get away with it.[12]

After Dave's friends caused more havoc in the pub, this time upsetting Roy Evans, Dave claimed that Walford was "soft" without Phil and Grant Mitchell around, which enraged Peggy further.[13] Peggy confronted Dave and told him that she would be terminating his contract with immediate effect. When Dave refused to leave, Peggy tried to round up some of Phil and Grant's associates, but to no avail.[14]

When Dave's friends trashed the floral tributes to Tom, Roy stepped in and tried to stop them, after Sharon became distraught at the sight. The rest of Walford's male residents united to drive the thugs out of town, and they were closely followed by Dave, who had tried to steal some money from The Vic's till, but was stopped by Sam wielding a baseball bat.[14]
