Plot

Turk and Carla are now officially engaged and everyone is happy for them. But Turk may be headed for trouble. He operated on Mr. Simms for an open-lung biopsy, accidentally nicking an artery, which has caused him some pain and bruising. Turk is reluctant to inform Mr. Simms because he doesn't want to risk being sued. Additionally, while he and J.D. were on the roof pretending to be Tiger Woods, one of their golf balls hit a car, causing the driver to run into a tree. The driver ends up being their patient, Mr. Foster. They check with the attorney Ted, to see if they could be liable, but Ted mentally shuts down as soon as they mention any kind of possible lawsuit. The Janitor finds out about their little secret and blackmails them by having them pay to replace his cracked windshield. One of the golf balls did hit the windshield, but it was first cracked months ago. J.D. said that their karma would turn bad and sure enough, it has.

But, once they come clean and admit what they did, things later improve. It turns out that it was another golf ball that hit Mr. Foster's car, not theirs. He was downtown when it happened.

The other happy couple, Elliot and Paul (Rick Schroder), are doing well, too. They've been out enough times, so Elliot is ready for them to proceed to the next level - having sex. She's surprised, when, after their date, he declines her invitation to come inside her apartment. He later apologizes, telling her that he doesn't want to rush things. She accepts his apology, but is now even more nervous that he doesn't like her.

They get together later in the week. Elliot decides that she's going to let Paul see the crazy side of her, her neuroses, insecurities and phobias. That disclosure turns him on and they finally have sex.

Jordan and Dr. Cox are happy because she is scheduled to have her labor induced later in the week. Jordan's mood quickly changes back to its normal meanness when she finds out that her ultra-luxurious birthing room is still occupied by another woman still in labor and her doctor is in with that patient as well. The fill-in doctor is a overly enthusiastic, way too perky, young resident who has no idea what she's getting into. Cox reluctantly goes to Dr. Kelso to see if he can pull any strings to get Jordan another suite. Furious with how things turned out, Jordan and Cox argue. Jordan is just about to leave the hospital when her water breaks.

Jordan is now in her tiny delivery room being tortured by Dr. Donna. She orders Cox to leave before she rips him a new one. He leaves the room, but asks J.D. to check in on Jordan periodically. It turns out Jordan has an even bigger surprise. She confides to J.D. that the baby is actually Dr. Cox's. She didn't tell him because she is afraid that he won't be around when she needs him. She delivers the baby with no problems and keeps the secret to herself.

Trivia

  • The first occasion the Janitor talks directly to another hospital staff member
  • When Elliot is talking to Carla about Paul, the clock in the background shows the time: 15:10. At the end of the conversation, just after the remark from Elliot about the burns on the face of Dr. Kelso, the clock shows 15:30. That's a LONG conversation of at most 20 sentences!
