Template:Future election in the United States

The 2008 congressional elections in Rhode Island will be held on November 4, 2008 to determine who will represent the state of Rhode Island in the United States House of Representatives. Rhode Island has two seats in the House, apportioned according to the 2000 United States Census. Representatives are elected for two-year terms; whoever is elected will serve in the 111th Congress from January 4, 2009 until January 3, 2011. The election coincides with the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

The statewide Primary election will be held September 9, 2008.

District breakdown

District 1

This district covers the northern and East Bay sections of the state, and has been represented by Democrat Patrick J. Kennedy since 1995. He is running against Republican challenger Joe Zuccolo, and CQ Politics forecasts the race as 'Safe Democrat'.

District 2

This district covers the areas roughly south and west of Providence, and has been represented by Democrat Jim Langevin since 2001. He is running against Republican Mark Zaccaria, and CQ Politics forecasts the race as 'Safe Democrat'.
