John Welsman (born 1955, Toronto) is a Canadian composer. The grandson of conductor Frank Welsman and the brother of jazz singer Carol Welsman, he studied music composition privately with Samuel Dolin and Milan Kymlicka. He is best known for his film and television scores which he has written for production companies in both Canada and the United States.[1] Some of the films he has worked on are The Peace Tree, A Winter Tale, and Nurse.Fighter.Boy. He has been nominated for the Gemini Award 10 times, winning four times for his work on the television series Road to Avonlea.
