- I recently created Image:Ireland.svg based upon an existing image, but have cleaned up the code and made it much more re-usable (I hope). Please use it wherever necessary, and improve it if you can (I suggest a few things in the image's description). — Nicholas (reply) @ 01:56, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- All stars categorys ,the User who has nominated these category's now intends to nominate Category:Members of the 1st Dáil -> Category:Members of the 28th Dáil(Gnevin 16:23, 15 March 2007 (UTC))
- Yet another vote on moving/renaming Ireland/Republic of Ireland articles, [1]. Bastun 22:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have expanded the article on Seán Dublin Bay Rockall Loftus, but I have found it very difficult to find any dates e.g. the date of his first election to / retirement from Dublin City Council, the dates of his various name changes etc. If anybody can come up with dates or any additional information I would be grateful. Scolaire 16:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- I have created a new category: Folly buildings in the Republic of Ireland and included the Casino at Marino and Conolly's Folly. I hope that it is useful and I will be grateful for additions to it or constructive criticism. Autarch 14:23, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Cool! I've checked and the Conolly's Folly name is kinda wrong. I'll move it from Conolly->Connolly - Alison☺ 15:38, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- So I just checked the edit history and Damac has suggested that the family spelled their name "Conolly". Is this true? I can't find any references but one and everyone else seems to spell it in the conventional manner. If I'm wrong, I need to correct it and maybe put a short note in the article itself - Alison☺ 16:24, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- "Kinda wrong", User:Ali-oops? On what basis? The family who built the monument were the Conollys: for evidence see the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, Lewis's Topographical Directory of Ireland, 1837, Oxford Biography Index, etc. More references can be provided.--Damac 23:11, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Northern Ireland has been, rather pointedly, excluded from the draft Template:Infobox UK place. I have requested an explanation from the template's author, here. Please contribute your thoughts. --Mais oui! 07:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
- The Image police have been active of late and Mary Robinson, Garrett FitzGerald and Albert Reynolds fallen foul of them. Anyone know where public domain images of the afore-mentioned can be obtained? I'm not suggesting we need images of all Irish politicians but at least there should be pictures of all former presidents and taoisigh. Snappy56 23:56, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Kathryn NicDhàna and Calgacus are lumping Irish Mythology and Scottish mythology into one on the Celtic mythology template, see here. Also Calgacus wants Irish Mythology deleted to Gaelic Mythology. I think Scotland should have it's very own Mythology section. Readers will be very confused.Manopingo 00:06, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- No one is "lumping" the mythologies on the template "into one". Rather, Manopingo keeps removing any mention of Scottish mythology. Very odd. Template may need sprot-ing. ~ Kathryn NicDhàna ♫♦♫ 03:26, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I was removing it from being lumped with Irish mythology. Scottish mythology was inserted on top of Irish mythology without any other editing. Seems all very odd. Well, if that's the the way Wikipedia is heading, it doesn't say much for it's credibility. Manopingo 13:46, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- It was inserted below Irish mythology actually; I don't understand why you are choosing to lie about this ... as anyone who checked would see. Scottish mythology was recently below Irish mythology in the template along with Breton below Welsh on the natural understanding that both are not very seperable. If you had different sections, there would be repetition ... not good for a template. Calgacus, btw, was arguing that the name "Gaelic mythology" is simply more appropriate for the content of that article ... but never suggested moving, in fact he suggested the opposite. Like I said, don't understand why you'd want to lie ... it can easily be checked by looking. Regards, Calgacus (ΚΑΛΓΑΚΟΣ) 14:01, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

- There is a vote on the use of flags in the Northern Ireland infobox. See here. Stu ’Bout ye! 16:13, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
- There is an ongoing push to screw up Irish pound see the talk page. Djegan 01:13, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- A user User:Sarah777 has sustained what I believe are a barrage of comments on my talk page that borderline WP:NPA . I will shortly make a statement on my future in wikipedia on my user page, but it is largely unconnected with this barrage of comments. Djegan 23:27, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- Can someone look over the Charles Haughey article? There were fairly major edits by an anon editor today, including deletion of refs and adding other points [2]. I'm not knowledgeable enough to make a call on it but it looks like some POV has crept in ("most able"??) - Alison✍ 00:20, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
- A new introduction has been created at Republic of Ireland, any comments (see bottom talk page)? Djegan 22:57, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

- Movin' around articles with "Ireland" in the title is back on the agenda, see here. Djegan 19:53, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Can I ask people to pay particular attention to "anon" or "newby" vandalism edits, particularily to the articles larger towns of Ireland. Their seams to be a real effort to litter articles with utter nonsense, particularily Dundalk, Limerick, and Sligo. Djegan 00:55, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- You might have seen my on some of the pages, I have been reverting a lot of it but will keep an extra eye out over the next few days.--Vintagekits 16:25, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
- As the Talk:British Isles rolls on, I see that, a few days ago, a new info-box : "History of Christianity in the British Isles" appeared. Is this to give the term some relevance? see [3] ClemMcGann 00:56, 5 February 2007 (UTC)
- The history is somewhat different: the article History of Christianity in the British isles was moved to Template:History of British Christianity. It had existed for nearly a year in mainspace, quite undisturbed. So too had Christianity in the British isles 410-1066, but that was moved to Anglo-Saxon Christianity, reflecting the content that had been completed, and Early Insular Christianity created to replace it. It's not all bad news. Angus McLellan (Talk) 01:28, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

A chairde,
There really are a depressingly small number of contributors to the wikipedia project in Irish with probably a maximum of 50 or so edits a day, often by the same users. It would be wonderful if you who know so much about Irish affairs and have such interest would (if you speak Irish, of course) help translate articles and create new ones. We have far too many stumpaí, in fact almost half of all articles. A bit of enthusiasm from a few new contributors could really help the project.
I'm sitting my Leaving Certificate now and have found writing for ga.wiki really helped my standard of Irish, I also learned a lot from reading other pages. Your Irish doesn't need to be good to contribute - even if it's only adding categories or interwikis. If you can't remember a word, I recommend EnglishIrishDictionary.com for cross-referencing. Go n-éirí libh, and keep up the good work.
