Silaiman is a panchayat village in Tirupparangunram Mandal (Thiruparankundram) of Madurai District in the Tamil-Nadu state of India.[1] Silaiman is located on the right (south) bank of the Vaigai River, on Route 85 about eight kilometers by road southeast of the city of Madurai, the district headquarters.It is very near to KEEZHADI archeological site of india.Keeladi is the one and only site in India excavated 3000 materials date back to 6 BC.Dice made of elephant trunk, ear rings,thongattan made of gold are some of 5he important materials excavated and collected from this site and deposited in Mysore mueseum.Tamilnadu government taking severe steps to establish a archeological mueseums in and around Keeladi village to preserve this kind of materials within Tamilnadu.

In the 2011 census the population was 6,436.[2]
