Wes Edens (born Wesley Robert Edens) is a wealthy American businessman, private equity investor and sports team owner.

Early Life

Edens received a B.S. in Finance from Oregon State University

Career

Edens co-founded Fortress Investment Group in 1998. He served as Co-Chairman of thee Board of Directors at Fortress since 2009. Prior to founding Fortress Edens was a partner and managing director at BlackRock. He was also formerly a partner and managing director at Lehman Brothers.[1]

Milwaukee Bucks

In 2014 Edens and Marc Lasry purchased the Milwaukee Bucks from Herb Kohl for $550 million[2]. Opponents of a proposed public-financing deal for a new arena to replace the BMO Harris Bradley Center have used Edens' ties through Nationstar Mortgage[3].

Personal Life

Edens and his wife Lynn have two children, Mallory and Madison. Mallory received significant, controversial media attention following her appearance as the Milwaukee Bucks' team representative at the 2014 NBA Draft lottery.[4][5]
