Ágúst Friðrik Hauksson (born September 11, 1960 ) is a former Icelandic football player. The defender came on as a substitute for the 1980 international match between Iceland and Greenland . It was his only international match.

Athletic career

Ágúst Hauksson began his football career in the late 1970s with Þróttur Reykjavík . In the club, which played in the highest Icelandic league from 1978 , he was a regular for three years, which he recommended over the Icelandic U-19 and U-21 selection for a short assignment in the senior team . The appearance against Greenland (final score 4: 1) remained the only international match in his career and his move to Fram Reykjavík in 1981 following the relegation of Þróttur earned him a runner-up , but shortly afterwards he returned to the meanwhile second rate Þróttur back.

Between 1983 and 1991 he played for lower class Norwegian football clubs, which included Kopervik IL , SK Vard Haugesund , IL Trio and Rosendal TL . Then Ágúst moved back to his Icelandic homeland and there he put himself back in the service of his ex-club Þróttur Reykjavík, which is still active in the second division. The last known stations were then again in Norway IL Averøykameratene (1997), Stord IL (1998–2000) and again IL Trio (2003).
