Egypt and Old Testament

Egypt and the Old Testament ( ÄAT for short ) is a series of books founded by Manfred Görg and now published by Stefan Jakob Wimmer and Wolfgang Zwickel . Between 1983 and 2013 it was published by Harrassowitz Verlag in Wiesbaden , between 2014 and 2017 by Ugarit-Verlag , Münster, and since then by Verlag Zaphon, Münster.

In ÄAT both works with an interdisciplinary focus and those that remain limited to one of the two subject areas appear. The focus includes the philological, art-historical and archaeological areas of Egyptology as well as Old Testament exegesis, archeology, glyptics and epigraphy of Israel / Palestine and the adjacent areas such as Sinai, Transjordan and Lebanon, literature and religious history up to the Greco-Roman and early Christian times as well relevant aspects of research history. In addition to monographic studies, excavation reports, conference files and commemorative publications are also published. The series is open to young academics as well as well-known representatives of their subjects.
