Older Scandinavian Studies

The older Scandinavian is a field of Scandinavian Studies , which deals with the norrönen language and literature of northern Europe in the Middle Ages apart sets. The tasks within the older Scandinavian studies include, for example, the evaluation of runic inscriptions, the interpretation of Norrön texts (such as the Icelandic sagas) and dealing with Old Norse . In addition to Old Norse, Gothic and Norn are also discussed in some cases. In a broader sense, Scandinavian linguistics is also part of older Scandinavian studies.
