Ålö AB is a Swedish agricultural machinery manufacturer based in Brännland, Umeå municipality , which specializes in the manufacture of front loaders .

history

In 1947 Karl-Ragnar Åström designed a front loader for his farm. In 1949 production started on a small scale and in 1950 the Ålö-Maskiner company was entered in the commercial register. In 1993 the Balticgruppen got into the company and in 2000 the competitor Baas-Trima was taken over. In 2002 3i became the main owner and the company organization was fundamentally restructured. In the course of this, AB Ålö-Maskiner changed its name to Ålö AB . In 2008, a new record was set with sales of 37,000 front loaders. In addition to front loaders, Ålö now also produces front loader implements. From January 2020, the Jost Werke will be the new owners of Alö.

Business figures

In 2008 Ålö had a turnover of 1.911 billion Swedish kronor (around 216 million euros). Production takes place at three locations in Sweden, as well as in Denmark and France . The products are marketed under the brand names Quicke and Trima . Ålö is the market leader in the USA, the Benelux countries and the Scandinavian countries, among others. Ålö has a 25% share of the world market.
