Åsmund Aukrust

Åsmund Aukrust (born February 28, 1985 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian politician of the social democratic Arbeiderpartiet (Ap). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .

Life

After completing secondary school, he studied sociology at the University of Oslo from 2004 to 2010 . Aukrust sat in Bærum's local parliament from 2003 to 2007 . From 2007 to 2013 he was a member of the Fylkesting in what was then Akershus Province . Between 2010 and 2014 Aukrust was the deputy chairman of the youth organization Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (AUF). From 2011 to 2013 he served as Vice President of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY). During this time he was also a member of the board of the anti-EU organization Nei til EU . In 2011 he worked as a political advisor in the Ministry of Culture .

Aukrust entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2013 general election . There he represents the constituency of Akershus and he became a member of the Energy and Environment Committee. He stayed there after the 2017 election .
