Edouard Axelrad

Édouard Axelrad (born June 10, 1918 in Paris , † 2006 ) was a French writer.

life and work

Axelrad was from the Gestapo arrested as resistance fighters and the Auschwitz deported . A German officer noticed his drawing skills and ensured his survival.

Axelrad experienced the end of the war in 1945 in Sachsenhausen concentration camp . He processed his experiences there in his autobiographical novel Le Jaune , which he published in 1988.
