Edouard Elle

Édouard Elle (born August 17, 1859 in Brussels , † July 1911 in Wépion ) was a Belgian architect and watercolorist .

Life

Elle made a name for himself primarily as an architect. Its most famous buildings, which were built around the turn of the 20th century, are located in Brussels.

Less known is that he also created some paintings, watercolors, gouaches and etchings. The motifs are varied and range from picturesque, picturesque landscapes and marine painting, to genre scenes and interiors from Flanders, to portraiture.

He was a member of the Paris-based Société nationale des beaux-arts and took part in the salon held there in 1910 and 1911.

His grandson Eddy Wérotte also appeared as a watercolor artist.
