Edouard Rosset-Granger
Édouard Rosset-Granger (born July 9, 1853 in Vincennes , Département Val-de-Marne , † 1934 in Paris ) was a French painter; a typical representative of academic art .
Life
Rosset-Granger studied at the École des Beaux-Arts (EBA) with Alexandre Cabanel , Édouard Dubufe and Alexis-Joseph Mazerolle . Supported by his teachers, he was able to successfully debut in 1878 at the great annual exhibition of the Société des Artistes Français (SAF).
In 1900, Stéphane Adolphe Dervillé , president of the PLM railway company , commissioned Rosset-Granger with 26 pictures to decorate the Salle Dorée of the restaurant Le Train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon in Paris.
As a member of the Société nationale des beaux-arts , Rosset-Granger was entrusted in 1906 with the design of the town hall of Saint-Mandé ( Département Île-de France ). Together with Guillaume Dubufe (1853-1909) he worked on this order until 1909. During these years Rosset-Granger also had a large studio in Paris ( 17th arrondissement ).
Édouard Rosset-Granger died in Paris in 1934 at the age of 80 and found his final resting place there.
