Émerson , full name Émerson Carvalho da Silva (born January 5, 1975 in Bauru ), is a former Brazilian football player .

Career

Émerson began his career in 1994 at EC XV de Novembro , where he was under contract for one season, but did not take part in any league games. After a year signed a contract with Portuguesa . In five seasons he was in 77 league games for the club, in which he scored seven goals. In 2001, Émerson moved to São Paulo FC for one season , for which he played 20 league games. After nine years in Brazil, he moved to the Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse in 2003 , where he played 15 league games, scoring one goal. Emerson completed eight league games (one goal) in the 2003/04 season for the Portuguese club Belenenses Lisbon . In 2004 he returned to Brazil and was under contract for the Paraná Clube club for one season. During the year he made 13 league games and scored one goal. In 2005 Émerson signed a contract with Botafogo FR (17 league games, two goals). In 2006 he returned to the Paraná Clube, made 24 league games and scored four goals. In 2007 he went to AA Ponte Preta and ended his career after 17 league appearances without scoring .
