Émile Picault

Émile Louis Picault (born August 24, 1833 in Paris , † August 24, 1915 there ) was a French sculptor, known for bronze sculptures.

He was a student of the painter Henri Royer and exhibited in the Paris salons from 1863 to 1914 and was very successful in his time.

His bronzes mostly have allegorical, mythological or patriotic motifs, but also historical figures (such as Nicolas Flamel , Jeanne d'Arc , Ambroise Paré , Voltaire ) and literary figures (such as Macbeth, the Cid, Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme).

The monument to Joseph Lakanal in Foix comes from him .

He signed E. Picault.
