Gamyo Épinal (official name: Image Club d'Épinal ) are a French ice hockey team from Épinal , which was founded in 1997 and plays in the Ligue Magnus , the highest French ice hockey league.

The club plays its home games in the Patinoire de Poissompré with a capacity of 1,200 .

history

The predecessor of Image Club d'Épinal was founded in December 1906 and was named Sports d'hiver Spinaliens (SHS). Today's Image Club d'Épinal was re-established in 1997. After the club was founded, Épinal played immediately in the second division and until 2005 always reached fourth or fifth place at the end of the regular season. In the 2002/03 season, the club rose as champions of division 1 in the first-class Ligue Magnus . In the same season they moved into the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France . In the first season in Ligue Magnus, Épinal was only penultimate. After playoffs were introduced in the following season after the regular season, the Dauphins missed this clearly as bottom of the table. Nevertheless, in the 2006/07 season, the surprising move into the final of the Coupe de France , where they lost to the Ducs d'Angers with 1: 4.

By the 2007/08 season, the team managed to establish itself under the Canadian player-coach Shawn Allard in midfield of the Ligue Magnus.
