Étienne Krähenbühl (conductor)

Étienne Krähenbühl (* 1935 ; † September 23, 1985 in Basel ) was a Swiss conductor and musician.

From 1972 to 1985 he directed the Basler Bach Choir (BBC), founded in 1911, and from 1977 to 1985 also the Basler Gesangverein , founded in 1824 , which he made familiar with the more recent performance of old works. He also worked as the vice conductor of the Knabenkantorei Basel and worked with the well-known conductor Fritz Näf .

Krähenbühl died in a traffic accident in 1985 at the age of 50.
