The elongated, highly indented Île Callot is a tidal island ( French Île-de-marée ) opposite the port of Carantec in the Finistère department in Brittany in France .
When the tide is low, it is accessible from Carantec via the Passe aux Moutons, a chaussée submersible ( German “diving road” ).
The Île Callot is 2.2 km long and between 10 and 500 meters wide. It has its highest point at 38 meters above sea level. The island was inhabited by nine families (in 2007) and has an abandoned school that temporarily houses exhibitions (photographs, paintings and sculptures) during the summer.
