Îlot Breton

The Îlot Breton (French for Breton Island ), also known as Breton Island , is a rocky island off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It is located 350 m southwest of the Île de l'Empereur north of Cape Margerie in the entrance to Port Martin .

Participants in a French Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1949 to 1951, mapped out and named the island. It was named after the fact that the crew of the research ship Commandant Charcot were predominantly Bretons.
