The Cape Margerie is a flat and icy cape with distinctive rock outcroppings on the northern end of the coast of the East Antarctic Adélielands . It is halfway between Cape Mousse and Lacroix Nunatak and is surrounded by numerous small rocky islands. The cape marks the western limit of the entrance to Port Martin
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson mapped the Cape. Mawson named it after the French geographer and geologist Emmanuel de Margerie (1862–1953). The cape was the location of the French Port Martin station from 1950 until it was destroyed by fire in January 1952.
