The Îlot Pollux is next to the Îlot Castor one of two small rocky islands southeast of the Île du Lion off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . In the Géologie archipelago , it is located in the Baie des Gémeaux .
French scientists named both islands in 1977 after Castor and Pollux from Greek mythology .
