Ñico Saquito
Ñico Saquito (born January 17, 1902 in Santiago de Cuba , † July 4, 1982 in Havana ; real name Benito Antonio Fernández Ortiz ) was a Cuban composer , guitarist and singer.
He is considered to be the most influential representative of the Cuban guaracha . Many of his compositions, with their folkloric-satirical to vividly depicting everyday texts, have become Cuban evergreens. Among others: "María Cristina", "El vaivén de mi carreta", "Cuidaíto Compay Gallo", "La negra Leonor" or "No dejes camino por vereda".
