Óscar Acúrsio

Óscar Acúrsio da Silva Pereira (born August 7, 1916 in Lisbon , † March 29, 1990 ) was a Portuguese actor .

Life

Acúrsio was born to the journalist Acúrsio Pereira . He dropped out of college to devote himself to film. In 1935 he started working as a production assistant and was on the production staff for the films Os Fidalgos da Casa Mourisca (1938), Ala-Arriba (1942), A Mantilha de Beatriz (1946), Camões (1946), Amanhã Como Hoje (1948) and Heróis do Mar (1949). At the invitation of Vasco Morgado , he trained as a film technician in Rome in 1950. He later worked for many years as an assistant and producer for the television station RTP .

He had previously taken on supporting roles in several films, such as João Ratão (1940), Cais do Sodré (1946), Os Vizinhos do Rés do Chão (1947), O Leão da Estrela (1947) and Três Espelhos (1947). In 1952 he made his stage debut at the Teatro Monumental in the play Viva o Luxo . This was followed by roles in the productions Cá vai Lisboa and Garotas no Espeto , in the comedies Pinto Calçudo and Ela nicht gostava do Patrão , in children's theater, in revues and in the tele-theater of the television station RTP, including the acclaimed production A Casa-Fronteira (1969). In 1970 he was seen for the last time in the cinema alongside Ivone Silva and Fernanda Borsatti in the film A Maluquinha de Arroios . In 1984 he took on the role of Graxas in the telenovela Chuva na Areia .

He was married to the actress Isabel de Castro .
