Isabel de Castro

Isabel de Castro (actually Isabel Maria Bastos Osório de Castro e Oliveira , born August 1, 1931 in Lisbon , † November 23, 2005 in Borba ) was a Portuguese actress .

De Castro played in films as a teenager and was active in television from the 1990s until her death. The multi-award-winning actress was also seen on stage, for example at the Estúdio do Salitre. Her career began in 1946 in the musical comedy Ladrão, precisa-se! ... , which was followed by numerous engagements for Spanish films, especially in the 1950s and 1990s. For Antonio Momplet and Ignacio F. Iquino she directed Brigada criminal (1950), El sistema Pelegrín (1952) and La danza del corazón from the same year alongside Tony Leblanc . She spent a total of six years in Spain; back home she went u. a. to the Teatro da Trinidade and the Teatro Avenida. Her role in "A cozinha" was a great success.

De Castro was one of the recurring actresses in Portuguese film and worked with almost all important directors.
