Tony Leblanc
Tony Leblanc (actually Ignacio Fernández Sánchez ; born May 7, 1922 in Madrid , † November 24, 2012 in Villaviciosa de Odón ) was a Spanish actor , director and comedian .
Life
Leblanc, whose father worked in the Museo del Prado and who was born there, learned to sing and dance, tried his hand at football for Real Club Deportivo Carabanchel in the third division and as a boxer; he achieved the title of regional Castilian lightweight champion. He then devoted himself to acting and played in the ensembles of Nati Mistral and Celia Gámez . In 1945 he began his film career, initially in smaller roles. From the mid-1950s until the end of the following decade, he played in numerous successful Spanish films; he was often seen alongside Concha Velasco and as a trio of comedians with José Luis Ozores and Manolo Gómez Bur .
Occasionally Leblanc tried his hand at being a director, screenwriter and composer. He also played in self-written revues and in plays by others, often directed by Mistral. Finally, he also found time to pursue a career on Spanish television at an early age. In 1975 he retired from the cinema and in 1983 also ended his stage career after a traffic accident.
In 1998 he returned; He received a Goya Award for Best Actor for his performance in Torrente - The Stupid Arm of the Law . This led to numerous other offers, which he took up until his death.
