This page covers the complete works of the writer Marie Nathusius . The following lists do not claim to be complete.

At the beginning of 1844 Marie Nathusius began to write her first novel: Braunschweig und Würzburg , later renamed Johanna, a family story . Also in the spring of 1844 she wrote the short story Die Badereise , a year later Die Kunstreiter . Many of her early stories and novels first appeared in series in the Volksblatt für Stadt und Land for instruction and entertainment .

The most important German-language publishers for the publication of works by Marie Nathusius were the publishers of Richard Mühlmann and Julius Fricke in Halle (Saale) and the publishing houses of Gustav Fock and Philipp Reclam in Leipzig . Works by Nathusius have been included in publishing series several times, including in the Universal Library for Young People (also known as the Universal Library for Young People and People ) of the Union Deutsche Verlagsgesellschaft (all edited by Werner Werther) and in the Recommended Volks- und Jugendschriften in cheap editions of the publisher Greßner & Schramm.

Above all, translations of the successful novels Elisabeth , Langenstein and Boblingen , Diary of a poor lady and Joachim von Kamern were published abroad . The German-language work Stories by Marie Nathusius (includes: Aunt Sophie. A Christmas Story and The Little Regiment Trumpeter ) was published by Pilger in Reading ( New York ) for people of German origin living in the USA .

The most famous novels by Nathusius were published well into the 20th century. B. Langenstein and Boblingen 1916 in the 12th edition with Richard Mühlmann (Halle) and 1953 with Ernst Kaufmann (Lahr / Baden) or Elisabeth in 1921 with Oranien-Verlag (Herborn) and 1928 with Zenith-Verlag Erich Stolpe (Leipzig). Posthumously the published diary of a trip to Provence, Italy and Switzerland ( from the estate ) and several anthologies.

Incorrect description

Several times, works have been given the wrong name of the author. Her first name was often given as "Maria" during her lifetime. After her husband Philipp von Nathusius was raised to the nobility in 1861, some of her books were marketed under the name "Marie von Nathusius", although she had died in 1857.
