Óscar López Hernández (born May 11, 1980 in Cerdanyola , Catalonia ) is a Spanish football player who is currently without a club.

Player career

Barcelona

Born in Catalonia, Óscar López comes from the youth of the Spanish top club FC Barcelona . Between 2000 and 2004, the defender played for the Catalans' B team for four years. In the 2003/04 season he also made his debut in the Primera División for Barca's first team. But he was unable to assert himself there due to the great competition. For the 2004/05 season he was loaned to the Italian first division club Lazio Rome , for which he played 14 games.

The last few years

In the summer of 2005, Óscar López was looking for his chance at the Spanish first division club and cup winner Betis Sevilla . In his first season he played there regularly in the league, but also in the Champions League and later in the UEFA Cup . At the beginning of the following season, Óscar López was loaned to first division promoted Gimnàstic de Tarragona , but injured himself early in the season and could only play three games. At the end of the season Nàstic was relegated again, but the loan business was continued. After a weak start, Óscar López is now used more often in the second half of the 2007/08 season.

In January 2010 López switched to CD Numancia . After two seasons there, his contract, which expired in June 2011, was not extended.
