Dalian oil spill

The Dalian oil spill resulted from the explosion of a crude oil pipeline and a subsequent fire on July 16, 2010 in the port of Dalian , China.

A 430 km² oil slick formed . The plant is operated by the China National Petroleum Corporation . While the amount of oil spilled was initially given as around 1500 tons, an expert commissioned by Greenpeace estimated that at least 60,000 tons of oil leaked.
