Öppna landskap

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Öppna Landskap ( German : Open Landscapes ) is a Swedish summer song by Ulf Lundell . Lundell took the spring song Hör hur västvinden susar by Lars August Lundh as the basis for the song . It is the second track on Lundell's 1982 studio album Kär och galen .

The text describes Swedish nature and certain Swedish peculiarities in a romantic and sometimes slightly self-deprecating way, for example that you love to spend a large part of your life in seclusion in the open countryside or by the sea, but also - although legally prohibited - yourself Burning liquor.

The piece has been covered very often in Sweden, among others by the danish band Curt Haagers (1982) and the well-known Viking rock band Ultima Thule (1994). It is often referred to as Sweden's unofficial national anthem . However, just like in the first two stanzas of the official hymn Du gamla, Du fria , sung on official occasions , the term Sverige (Sweden) does not appear.

Because the Swedish hit parade Svensktoppen was set between 1982 and 1985, the song had no rating there. In a listener vote in 2017, it was voted by far the most popular song from those years.
