The Austrian Amateur Hockey League ( ÖAHL ) was the third highest league in Austrian ice hockey in the 2018/19 season and formed the link between the professional leagues EBEL and AlpsHL and the amateur leagues in the national associations. Five teams took part in the league hosted by the Austrian Ice Hockey Association (ÖEHV) .

For the 2019/20 season, the league should then be increased to nine teams. After disputes over the mode, several clubs withdrew, so that the ÖEHV had to announce the provisional end of the league on July 2, 2019.

Planned participants 2019/20

For the 2019/20 season, nine clubs registered their interest in participating.

After disagreements regarding the implementation regulations, only the teams from Vienna, Salzburg, Amstetten and Gmunden of these clubs held on to participation, while the other interested parties withdrew to the leagues of their regional associations. The ÖEHV expects at least five participants for an Austria-wide league operation and therefore canceled the implementation, but further editions in future seasons remain possible. This means that the remaining four teams are now playing again as part of their national associations championship.
