Austrian bibliography

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Austrian bibliography is the national bibliography of Austria. It is a continuously appearing directory of all publications that appear either in Austria or have a topic on Austria ( Austriaca ) compiled by the Austrian National Library .

It was published in print until 2003, since then it has only been available free of charge on the Internet . Initially, it was offered as a database on the homepage of the Austrian National Library, and since 2013 only in the form of PDF files.

With the creation of the bibliography, the National Library fulfills a legal mandate. The bibliography records the deposit copies due to the National Library . These mainly include monographs and periodicals , but also maps and printed music regardless of their form of appearance (i.e. printed editions as well as electronic editions and multimedia works). Sound carriers and audio-visual media are not subject to the Media Act. In the case of periodicals, only the first publication, a serious change in title or the cessation of publication are displayed.
