Austrian handball championship (women) 2011/12

The 41st season of the Austrian women's handball championship began on September 10, 2011 and ended with the second final game for the Austrian championship on May 19, 2012. The reigning champion was Hypo Niederösterreich .

In the top division, the WHA, 12 teams were represented. The championship was divided into two phases. In the main round, all teams played a simple round trip against each opponent. Then the first two teams played a final for the title.

Hypo Niederösterreich was handball champions for the 36th time in a row. Hypo Niederösterreich won the cup final against McDonald's Wr. Neustadt with 46:19.

In addition to UHC Eggenburg, who were relegated for sporting reasons, UHC Goldmann Druck Tulln also withdrew from the top division for financial reasons.
