The Austrian Leo Society was an Austrian association that was named after Pope Leo XIII. was named. The aim of the association, founded in 1892, was to promote science and art on a Catholic basis.

The association was divided into 13 sections such as theology , philosophy , history , natural sciences and others. It was founded by Joseph Alexander von Helfert . Other pioneers of the association were FM Schindler , Heinrich Swoboda and Josef Maria Pernter .

Helfert was also the first chairman. The association had up to 2,000 members, including Max von Ferstel and Camillo Sitte .

The association existed until 1938.

The association brought out numerous publications. From 1893 to 1899 the association also published a yearbook with a total of seven volumes. Other printing works were:
