Austrian technical-scientific association for maintenance and plant management

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Austrian Technical and Scientific Association for Maintenance and Plant Management (ÖVIA) was founded in May 1989 because of the increasing importance of plant maintenance due to constantly increasing plant complexity, innovation speed, market dynamics, scarcity of resources and competitive pressure.

Tasks, activities

For this reason, the ÖVIA concentrates on the solution of branch-specific problems, the further development of the plant management as well as maintenance over and on the promotion of the subject area as a whole.

The association's tasks include coordinating the activities decided on in committees, communication between industry and technical-scientific associations, maintaining contact with international institutions and exchanging knowledge in working groups.

Education and training, milestones and ÖVIA conferences

The activities of the ÖVIA are:

  • Form and moderate working groups to deal with specific problems and to exchange ideas.
  • Organize training courses, specialist conferences and seminars.
  • Award for the most excellent plant management in Austria in the course of the "Maintenance Award Austria".
  • Carry out research tasks in the field of basic research and applied research.
  • Communication and cooperation with institutions with the same or similar objectives at home and abroad.
  • Practically try out innovations in the field of plant management and maintenance.
