Institute for International Research
Institute for International Research ( IIR ) was an international training and further education company with a focus on “job-related adult education”. The Institute for International Research no longer exists in this form, as it has been integrated into Informa plc., A listed media company for financial and economic information based in London . Informa employs more than 8,000 people in over 80 countries, publishes 45,000 specialist publications annually and organizes 12,000 B2B events.
Within the media group, IIR (with all subsidiaries) was responsible for the " B2B events" area. Typical IIR products were specialist conferences, seminars , workshops , in-house training and courses, but there were also some B2B trade fairs and large congresses . IIR was active worldwide: There were offices with local research teams in more than 40 countries, including Germany , Dubai , Great Britain , Italy , Poland , Spain , the Czech Republic , Hungary and the USA .
Under the brand IIR Management Development, IIR is now limited to in-house seminars in the soft skill area.
history
IIR was founded in New York in 1972 and was known early on as the editor of the International Tax Report . From 1978 the first specialist conferences organized by IIR take place in England. Congresses and specialist conferences in English will soon be organized for the pan-European market under the name ICBI. In the years to come, the company grew rapidly and established offices in the USA and continental Europe in order to serve the local markets in the respective national language with specialist conferences. A subsidiary ("Adam Smith Conferences") serves the Russian market from London .
In 1989 the American Institute is acquired. IIR is thus also active in the seminar and training business. Further acquisitions of well-known seminar providers such as ESI, Achieve Global , Huthwaite and Forum, Omega Performance, Communispond etc. follow. The Monaco Yacht Show is held for the first time in 1991 , today one of the world's most famous trade fairs for luxury yachts.
IIR has been active in Austria since 1992. Since the first full business year in 1993, products have been offered in many subject areas for almost all industries relevant in Austria. The company has been independent in Austria since 2012 and has been active as imh (Institute Manfred Hämmerle) since June 2017.
