The Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) is an annual trade fair for luxury yachts in Monaco , organized by the British event and publishing house Informa . The Monaco Yacht Show takes place in Port Hercules and is Europe's largest exhibition of large yachts on the water. The event was launched in 1991 as a broker-oriented event with an emphasis on superyachts over 20 m (66 ft) in length.

In addition to the estimated 125 yachts on display, over 580 exhibitors including brokerage firms, super yacht builders, yacht designers, luxury brands and luxury automobile manufacturers will attend the event. Over 150 private events will take place during the four-day event, including press conferences, receptions and product presentations.

The best and biggest superyacht launches of the year usually take place at the Monaco Yacht Show. According to the “Boat International” magazine, the Monaco Yacht Show is one of the six most important boat shows in the world.

history

The Monaco Yacht Show was founded in 1991 and was organized by the French entrepreneur Maurice Cohen. In 1994 the rights to the event were sold to the media company IIR , which also owned the rights to the “Superyacht de Nice” event. After problems with the number of participants, the IIR decided to focus the Monaco Yacht Show on superyachts with boats from around 20 m (66 ft) to 90 m (300 ft) in length and to host the event in Nice as a trade fair. The event grew to 65 yachts in 2002 and attracted nearly 15,000 visitors. In 2005 the IIR was taken over by the British operator Informa for 1.4 billion dollars. By 2016, the event had more than doubled its visitor numbers from 2002 and increased the number of yachts to 125. In 2017, the value of the yachts in Monaco during the event was estimated at 4.5 billion euros.

Since 2016 there has also been an exhibition for luxury automobiles, called “Car Deck”, and an exhibition for tenders and toys, called “Tenders & Toys”.
