Ādolfs Sīmanis (born March 11, 1909 in Riga , † September 1979 in Illinois , United States ) was a Latvian national football player and later coach.

Career

Sīmanis began his career with the Rigas Vanderers and played there until 1940. Due to his good performance in the forward position, he was appointed in 1932 for the first time for the national team of Latvia . This was followed by nine international matches by 1940, with nine hits on a balanced record. During this time he won the Baltic Cup twice with the national team . In 1940 he moved to FK Dinamo Riga for one season . In the autumn of 1940 he broke his leg at a game in Moscow and did not return to active football even after recovering. In 1944 he took over the coaching position at RFK Riga for a year until the Latvian clubs were dissolved after the Second World War . He later emigrated to the United States , where he died in September 1979.
