history

The locomotive was built in 1918 by the Smoschewer company in Wroclaw under the serial number 625. During the First World War, it manufactured locomotives with a gauge of 600 mm for the Austro-Hungarian army . These were three-axle tank locomotives of the R III c series . Locomotives of this type series were manufactured by many locomotive companies at that time. The individual types differ in individual construction elements such as frame type, controls and driver's cab.

The locomotive number 625 stopped at its manufacturing company after 1918 because it was not possible to sell it. Mainly it is said to have served in the 1920s to 1940s for construction companies with a gauge of 600 mm. This is how the machine made its way up to the present day. On a photo, the locomotive can still be seen in 1988 with a gauge of 600 mm.

Later it was re-gauged to 760 mm and is now on the museum railway in Čierny Balog .
