The E 465.001 and E 465.002 were electric locomotives of the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). They were used on the previous 1.5 kV direct current system in the Prague railway junction .

history

At the beginning of the 1920s, the ČSD planned a comprehensive electrification of their railway lines with 1.5  kV DC voltage. In 1925, ČSD ordered a total of 16 electric locomotives for the first planned routes in the Prague hub. These included two locomotives for passenger train service, which were manufactured by the Prague companies Akciová společnost, dříve Breitfeld, Daněk a spol. and František Křižík should be built.

technical features

The locomotives were single- frame locomotives with the Buchli single-axle drive , which was modern at the time . The four traction motors could be stored in the spring-loaded locomotive frame. The power transmission to the axles took place via the gears that are typically attached to one side of the Buchli drive. In order to enable good arc travel, the outer drive wheel sets were guided together with the running axle in a Krauss-Helmholtz frame .
