The Franklin was a Hamburg cargo sailor that was part of the Imperial Fleet of the German Confederation in 1848/49 .
history
The wooden barque was at the shipyard JA Meyer ( Lübeck built) and the issuance of Biel letter took place on October 7, 1835. She ran for the shipping company Robert M. Sloman or Johann Ludwig Werlund (Hamburg, captain of the cruise line). The ship was registered on February 21, 1839 and used by the Sloman shipping company primarily in the North Atlantic service .
From September 13, 1848 to February 6, 1849, the Franklin was made available by the shipping company to the Reichsflotte and served on the Lower Elbe . Then she was returned to the shipping company.
Since the end of 1872, the Franklin has been considered lost on a journey from Hamburg to Brazil .
