aims

ČMKOS headquarters in Prague- Žižkov

The main goal of ČMKOS is to enforce basic trade union and human rights and to defend the social and economic interests of its members. ČMKOS represents the interests of its members in the tripartite Council of the Economic and Social Agreement of the Czech Republic (RHSD), where it negotiates with the government and representatives of employers' associations on fundamental labor law and social issues, occupational safety, etc.

After joining the EU, ČMKOS actively participates in the European agenda. The representatives of ČMKOS are members of several advisory committees or other bodies of the European Commission and the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC). At the national level, ČMKOS has its representatives in the departmental coordination group, etc. One of the most important instruments in the work of the trade unions is collective bargaining, for which only trade union organizations at company level and individual unions at branch level are responsible. The company union organizations negotiate with the management and decide on collective agreements, the individual unions negotiate with the responsible employer organizations and decide on higher-level collective agreements. The collective agreements apply not only to the members of the trade unions, but also to all employees concerned.

The legal service for the member unions and for the individual union members is provided by 15 regional legal advice centers of ČMKOS. The trade union school of ČMKOS in Zlenice is used for trade union education. ČMKOS publishes the SONDY revue for its members every three weeks.

Memberships

ČMKOS is a member of the International Trade Union Confederation as well as its regional structure PERR and the European Trade Union Confederation . She is also a member of the OECD Trade Union Advisory Committee ( TUAC ).

ČMKOS maintains relationships with around 60 national and international organizations. At the regional level, she participates in cross-border relationships and mutual cooperation.
