Milan Štěch (born November 13, 1953 in Budweis ) is a Czech politician of the ČSSD . From 2010 to 2018 he chaired the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic .

Štěch worked at the Škoda works in Budweis as a technician and trade unionist and was a member of the Communist Party until the Velvet Revolution . In 1989 he joined the Občanské fórum . From 1994 to 2002 he was vice-chairman of the trade union confederation ČMKOS , from 2002 to 2010 its chairman.

In 1996, Štěch was elected to the Senate for the constituency Pelhřimov - Jindřichův Hradec as a non-party member for the social democratic ČSSD. In 1997 he became a party member. Štěch was re-elected four times, most recently in the 2016 election . From 2008 to 2010 he was Deputy Chairman of the Senate and its Chairman from November 2010 to November 2018.
