The İstanbul Futbol Ligi 1908/09 was the fifth season of the İstanbul Futbol Ligi . Galatasaray Istanbul became the master for the first time .
At the beginning of this season, Cadi-Keuy FC , Elpis FC , Fenerbahçe Istanbul , Galatasaray Istanbul , HMS Barham and Moda FC registered their participation for the league. It was Fenerbahçe's first participation. After the HMS Barham left Istanbul in January 1909 , the team's membership in the Istanbul Futbol Ligi was ended. Another team left the league with Elpis FC. In the end there were four teams left.
