Šaumatar
Šaumatar or Šumatani is the Hurrian name of the underworld god Ugur . The name may be Indo-Aryan .
The Hittite queen Puduḫepa promised the Šaumatar of Kaitana a torch festival and a golden soul if her sick husband Ḫattušili III. stays alive. At the festival of the Šawuška of Šamuḫa Šaumatar was invoked together with Aštabi and Nubadig . In the kaluti list of sacrifices , he is named almost at the end after the “picture of the lady of the palace”.
