Nubadig
Nubadig (in Ugarit : nbdg ), also Lubadag in its older form , was a Hurrian god.
The god is mentioned for the first time in a building inscription by King Tišatal von Urkeš (approx. 1980 BC) as Lubadaga. In the Hurrian kaluti victim lists from the Hittite capital Ḫattuša , he is named after Aštabi , followed, depending on the list, by the protective deity of Ḫattuša, probably Inar , the star goddess Pirinkir and the god of war Ḫešui . At the Hurrian-Hittite ḫišuwa festival , he was worshiped together with the goddess Adamma- Kubaba . He is equipped with a quiver, bow and arrow. His position in the victim lists, armament and fellowship with Kubaba indicate that he is probably a form of the protective god . It is also being considered whether the patron god depicted in the Hittite rock sanctuary Yazılıkaya represents Nubadig.
It is possible that the god was worshiped in Karkemiš as well . There the death of King Apla-Handa (approx. 1770 BC) was kept secret for four days and only made public on the 18th of Kinunun at the festival of Nubandag.
