The Špičák (German Spitzberg ) is a summit of the Frühbuss-Neudeker Mountains ( Přebuzská hornatina ) on the Czech side of the western Ore Mountains . The Špičák is the highest mountain in the Okres Sokolov .

The summit area features hewn granite rocks and a wooden pavilion. The view from the top goes to the northwest to the main ridge of the Ore Mountains, which form the German-Czech border. To the west you can see the lookout tower on the lead mountain ( Olověný vrch ). The neighboring mountains of the Spitzberg are the Ochsenberg ( Jelení hora , Jelení vrch ) and behind it the Hartelsberg ( Čertova hora ), in the north the Schwarzhausenberg ( Bukovec ), in the southeast the Plattenberg.

Ascent

There are two ways to climb the Spitzberg: The shortest path leads on the green markings behind Frühbuss to the left in the direction of the Rolava and past the Frühbusser Heide. Slightly hilly terrain continues to the bend below the summit, from where a short steep ascent leads to the summit. Except for a short ascent to the summit, this path is easy because the starting point is already at 900 m.

The longer and more difficult variant leads from Silberbach ( Stříbrná ) to the summit. From the junction from Silberberg to Nancy, the hiking trail leads upwards with red and green markings. The green marking leads past the Prockelsberg ( Šišák ), past the intersection of Přístřešek pod Šišákem to the bend below the summit.
